Please be advised that the blockhouse at Fort Edward National Historic Site will be closed to the public for the duration of the 2024 season. Visitors are encouraged to explore the grounds at Fort Edward National Historic Site, which remain open year-round. More information

Safety

To have a safe visit, please observe the following:

  • The ground floor of the blockhouse is wheelchair accessible.
  • Use caution on the steep, grassed hills (earthworks).
  • Please carefully supervise children.

Visitor guidelines

Drones

All Parks Canada places are "no drone zones" for recreational use. Please leave your drone at home. Use of drones at Parks Canada places

Metal detectors

It is prohibited to use a metal detector within Fort Edward National Historic Site.

Pets

Pets on leash are permitted on the grounds. Only service animals are permitted in the blockhouse.

Smoking

Smoking is not permitted in the building.

No camping

Camping is not permitted at Fort Edward National Historic Site.

There is camping nearby at Grand-Pré National Historic Site.
