La Route Bleue is a first-rate ecotourism experience recognized by the Ministère de l’Éducation as a national network. By improving and facilitating access to bodies of water, La Route Bleue has become a standard for paddling routes in Quebec!

With over 230 km of waterways now accessible in the Montérégie, everyone can explore these heritage gems that deserve to be protected, enhanced and rediscovered. Whether by canoe, kayak or paddleboard, you can safely explore certified, marked waterways. Plan and organize your excursions with interactive mapping and a host of online tools.

Great news! In 2024, paddle one of the Montérégie waterways along the Chambly Canal National Historic Site! Explore the magnificent scenery on the calm waters of this historic canal, observe the local wildlife and immerse yourself in the region’s fascinating history, all in under three hours. This tranquil getaway is ideal for nature and adventure lovers, offering an unforgettable experience in the heart of the Montérégie region.

To practice paddle sports on the Chambly Canal, you need a seasonal boat sticker. In addition, a lockage permit is required to pass through the locks with your canoe or kayak. To prepare for your water outing, consult the Paddle sports web page.

The roll-out of La Route Bleue in Montérégie is made possible through the financial
