WHAT: Pursuant to Section 35(1) of the Canadian National Parks Act Fishing Regulations, the possession limit is zero on all waters in Banff National Park, except for:
1.Lake trout on Lake Minnewanka reservoir for which the possession limit shall remain 2 fish; and
2.Johnson Lake for which no fishing is allowed at all.
WHERE: Banff, Kootenay and Yoho National Park
WHY: To reduce the potential spread of whirling disease through the improper disposal of fishes
PENALTY: Violators may be charged under the Canada National Parks Act: maximum penalty
$25 000.
