RESTRICTED ACTIVITY: Travel In Banff National Park
Issued: May 15, 2019
What: By order of the Superintendent, and pursuant to Section 7.1 (2) of the National Parks General Regulations, travel within Banff National Park has been determined to be a "designated activity" requiring authorization in the form of a park entry pass.
Where: Throughout Banff National Park. Park entry passes are to be displayed in visitor vehicles.
Exception: Persons traveling without stopping along Highway 1 and Highway 93 South do not require a park pass.
Why: Entry fees support the conservation and management of the national park and fund facilities and services that benefit park visitors.
Penalty: Violators may be charged under the National Parks General Regulations: maximum fine $25,000.
