PURSUANT TO SECTION 7(1) OF THE NATIONAL PARK GENERAL REGULATIONS, USE OF MOTORIZED WATERCRAFT, AND TRAILERS USED TO LAUNCH ANY WATERCRAFT, IS RESTRICTED TO USERS MEETING THE FOLLOWING REQUIREMENTS, BY ORDER OF THE SUPERINTENDENT:

1) The motorized watercraft has been attached (sealed) to the trailer by way of a quarantine seal.
2) The quarantine seal has been attached to the vessel and trailer by a staff member of the Waterton Shoreline Cruise Company. If the vessel uses an outboard motor, this must remain attached to the vessel during the quarantine process(1).
3) The quarantine seal has been in place for a minimum of 90 days.
4) Prior to launching, the quarantine seal has been inspected and removed by a staff member of the Waterton Shoreline Cruise Company.

These restrictions apply to all civilian motorized watercraft in the following watercourses in Waterton Lakes National Park:

Upper Waterton Lake
Middle Waterton Lake

The use of a trailer to launch civilian watercraft is PROHIBITED in all other watercourses in Waterton Lakes National Park.

Civilian motorized watercraft are PROHIBITED in all other watercourses in Waterton Lakes National Park.

Hand launched civilian motorized watercraft are PROHIBITED in all waters in Waterton Lakes National Park.

Agency(2) and local commercial motorized watercraft(3) that operate solely in Waterton Lakes National Park, and the associated watercraft trailers, are permitted in Upper and Middle Waterton Lakes and Cameron Lake upon approval by park management and if the 90-day quarantine protocol has been met.
