Gwaii Haanas is a protected area on the southern half of Haida Gwaii, approximately 100 kilometres off the northern coast of British Columbia. Gwaii Haanas has no roads and is accessible only by boat or seaplane.

Most visitors explore this area with one of our licensed tour operators. Guided trips range from one-day zodiac adventures to multi-day kayak, sail, or motorboat excursions. Tours tend to book well in advance, so planning is key.

A smaller percentage of our visitors explore Gwaii Haanas independently. Independent visitors require a reservation and must participate in a visitor orientation prior to entering Gwaii Haanas.
