Prohibited activity - Pleasure Craft use in Riding Mountain National Park

What:

Pursuant to Section 7(1) of the National Parks General Regulations, of the Canada National Parks Act, the following activity is restricted or prohibited by order of the Superintendent:

  • Pleasure Craft use is prohibited on Clear Lake

What:

Pursuant to Section 21 of the National Parks General Regulations, of the Canada National Parks Act, the use on a watercourse of any type of motorized watercraft (pleasure craft) is prohibited except as permitted by a sign or notice placed, posted, or erected by the superintendent at or near the watercourse.

Note: This prohibition/restriction does not apply to non-pleasure vessels operating for park management purposes and/or under an authorization permit issued under Section 7(5) of the National Parks General Regulations.

Where:

Riding Mountain National Park

Why:

To reduce further introduction and/or spread of Aquatic Invasive Species within Clear Lake and Riding Mountain National Park.

Note:

Violators may be charged under the Canada National Parks Act. Maximum Penalty $25,000
