SUPERINTENDENT'S NOTICE: Use of tern island prohibited

Pursuant to section 7(1) of the National Parks General Regulations, it is prohibited to enter and travel on Tern Islands.

This prohibition is in effect from April 15 to September 30, 2024.

Tern Islands are barrier islands located between Blacklands Gully and St. Louis Gully (see attached map).

This action is taken to protect an important breeding area for Common terns in New Brunswick and for nesting Piping Plovers.

Anyone found in violation of this notice may be prosecuted under Section 24(2) of the Canada National Parks Act.
