Kejimkujik National Park and National Historic Site

Restricted activity: Prohibition to import, possess, and burn unauthorized firewood

Effective date:

Until further notice. 

Prohibited activities:

Pursuant to section 7(1) of the National Parks General Regulations, the following activities are hereby PROHIBITED by order of the Superintendent, Kejimkujik National Park and National Historic Site of Canada.

It is prohibited to:

Import, possess or burn firewood in the park, except for some wood products, such as heat treated firewood or processed bricks that are in sealed and labelled packages, under the discretion of the superintendent.

Where:

Kejimkujik National Park and National Historic Site of Canada.

Why:

The purpose of this prohibition is to help mitigate the risk of introduction and spread of invasive species that threaten forests in Kejimkujik National Park and National Historic Site of Canada.

Penalty:

It is an offence under the Canada National Parks Act to contravene these prohibitions. Violators may be charged.
