Stewardship and management

Qausuittuq National Park

Qausuittuq National Park is managed in cooperation with Inuit for the benefit, education, and enjoyment of all Canadians. The park ensures protection of most of the northern half of Bathurst Island as well as a number of smaller nearby islands. Qausuittuq is the fifth national park created in Nunavut with the collaboration and support of Inuit. It joins celebrated national parks Quttinirpaaq, Sirmilik, Auyuittuq and Ukkusiksalik as well Tallurutiup Imanga National Marine Conservation Area and the Wrecks of HMS Erebus and HMS Terror National Historic Site.
