Management Plan
2022 Thousand Islands National Park Management Plan.
Thousand Islands National Park stewards 20 islands and three scenic mainland properties on the St. Lawrence River. Here rugged shorelines mingle with opulent Gilded Age estates to create a surprising and enchanting landscape.
Guests explore islands and riverside environments that have been the summer home of Haudenosaunee and Anishinaabe First Nations for millennia. Visitors get a taste of island life with an overnight stay in oTENTik accommodations at the park’s waterfront visitor centre. Some pilot their own powerboat into the park—camping at a dock to enjoy riverside days spotting birdlife among the pines. Intrepid explorers paddle in by kayak or canoe—guided or independent—and tour these islands in total serenity. Others arrive via water-taxi to unwind at an island oTENTik or campsite.
However you choose to experience Ontario’s Thousand Islands National Park, this accessible wilderness will foster a lifetime of treasured memories.
