Metal detector restrictions
What: Pursuant to Section 7(1) of the National Parks General Regulations, the following activities are prohibited by order of the Superintendent:
No person shall use a metal detector in Thousand Islands National Park, except as authorized by a permit issued by the Superintendent.
Where:
- All managed lands and waters within Thousand Islands National Park of Canada.
Why: To reduce impacts on the ecological integrity of the park and for the protection of cultural resources.
Note: Violators may be charged under the Canada National Parks Act.
