Firewood restrictions
What: Pursuant to Section 7(1) of the National Parks General Regulations, the following activities are prohibited by order of the Superintendent:
The use of firewood not supplied by the Superintendent of Thousand Islands National Park. Including any firewood material imported from outside the Park and all flora, alive or dead, collected from within the Park.
Where:
- All managed lands and waters within Thousand Islands National Park of Canada.
Why: To reduce impacts on the ecological integrity of the park and prevent the spread of invasive forest insects and native forest pests and pathogens.
Note: Violators may be charged under the Canada National Parks Act.
