Rouge National Urban Park
CAUTION: Swimming at Rouge Beach is not recommended. Water quality is variable, and bacteria levels may pose a risk to your health. Swimmers are responsible for their own safety. Visit the water safety page for information about water quality and testing.
The Lake Ontario area of the park features beautiful lake views at the mouth of the Rouge River on gorgeous Rouge Beach. Spot a variety of aquatic bird species or paddle in the tranquility of Rouge Marsh. Popular activities include hiking, cycling along the Waterfront Trail, paddling, fishing (an Ontario licence is required) and bird-watching.

Parking Please note that Rouge Beach lower lot is closed from November 1, 2024 to May 1, 2025. Extremely limited parking available. Check Live parking information for current parking availability. Additional parking may be available at Lawrence Ave Overflow Lot and at Rouge Hills GO Station. Carpool or take transit. |

Activities
Please keep in mind that some activities are prohibited at Rouge Beach including barbecues, open fires, alcohol, fireworks, littering and crayfishing. This is to prevent the spread of invasive species and ensure that Rouge Beach remains a clean, safe and welcoming place for all visitors.
Swimming at Rouge Beach is strongly discouraged.

By Bus/Subway
Ride TTC eastbound Subway (Line 2) and get off at Kennedy Station. Connect to Bus 116 eastbound, Morningside Towards Finch. Get off at Morningside Avenue at Lawrence Avenue. Walk 1 minute to Lawrence Avenue East. From Lawrence Avenue East ride Bus 54A on Lawrence Avenue east and get off 20 stops later at Starspray Loop, also on Lawrence Avenue, then walk 2 minutes east to arrive at Rouge Beach.
By Commuter Train/Bus
From downtown Union Station, take the GO Train Lakeshore East to Rouge Hill GO Station (5 stops). From Rouge Hill GO Station you can walk 10-15 minutes east along the Waterfront Trail to arrive at Rouge Beach or catch TTC Bus 54A on Lawrence Avenue east and get off 3 stops later at Starspray Loop, also on Lawrence Avenue, then walk 2 minutes east to arrive at Rouge Beach.
By Bike
From downtown Toronto to the Rouge Beach Area: Approximately 33 km
Plan your route using Google Maps cycling directions or OpenStreetMap or the Great Lakes Waterfront Trail.
Note: Both the TTC and Go Transit allow you to bring bikes onto their trains and buses or have bike racks, though some restrictions apply at peak travel times. Consult their websites for more information and to help plan your route.
CAUTION! Please note that biking to the park and between park areas can involve cycling on busy roads, many of which do not have dedicated cycling lanes. Please exercise caution and cycle safely.
By Water
Launch your watercraft at Glen Rouge Campground and paddle south to Rouge Marsh and Rouge Beach.
Please note: Barbecues are prohibited at Rouge Beach and open fires are prohibited throughout the park.
