Forillon National Park

Permit request

You must submit an application for a filming or photography permit between December 1st, 2023 and June 1st, 2024.

Forillon National Park offers unparalleled filming and photography opportunities. To ensure that the park's natural and cultural heritage is preserved and that the visitor experience is not adversely affected, filming and photography activities are subject to certain restrictions.

If you wish to visit Forillon National Park and take advantage of the opportunity to shoot photos or videos, you may need formal authorisation or a permit.

Commercial filming

Due to high visitor numbers and operational requirements during the park's peak season, the application period is from December 1st, 2023 to June 1st, 2024.

We reserve the right to accept projects that meet the following criteria:

Projects that require little equipment or staff, and have little impact on the environment and visitors;
Projects that contribute to public awareness, appreciation and knowledge.

Submitting an application

An application must be submitted to Parks Canada at least 20 working days before the planned start of filming activities, within the allotted period, i.e. from December 1st, 2023 to June 1st, 2024. The application will be assessed against the requirements of the Canada National Parks Act and its regulations, as well as for its contribution to achieving the objectives of awareness, appreciation and education of our national park. If the application is approved, we will issue a filming permit.

We reserve the right to reject any application that is detrimental to Forillon National Park interests or to cancel an authorisation without notice if the conditions of the permit are breached.

Parks Canada strictly limits the use of drones. We do not accept applications for drone filming permits.

Professional photography

You must have a commercial permit if you plan to sell the photos you take in the national park.

The types of photos concerned include:

wedding photos;
special activities photos;
wildlife photos;
nature and landscape photos.

Amateur photographers are not required to obtain a permit. Photography in the park must comply with the following regulations.
