Prince Albert National Park
Saturday, December 14, 2024 1pm to 4pm at the Prince Albert National Park Visitor Centre in Waskesiu Lake Join us for a craft workshop facilitated by local Cree artists. Spots are limited; please pre-register today! The materials, the expertise of the facilitators, and Bannock and wild tea are included in the cost of the program. Porcupine quills have been used to adorn various accessories, clothing, and baskets for time immemorial. Let’s honour the porcupine and create a beautiful, custom pair of quill earrings. Participants will craft a pair of porcupine quill earrings with facilitators Cree Longjohn and Candace Longjohn. All materials will be supplied. Bannock and muskeg (Labrador) tea will be served. All levels of experiences welcome! Quills were harvested traditionally, sustainably, and ethically.
