Glen Ross Lock 7 and Swing Bridge Rehabilitation
Trent-Severn Waterway National Historic Site
May 9, 2019 - Community Update: Glen Ross Swing Bridge Commissioning
In early November 2018, Parks Canada reached substantial completion of the Glen Ross Swing Bridge and Lock 7 rehabilitation project.
This project included repairs to the swing bridge, lock chamber walls, sluice tunnels and upgrades to the water level control valves. The swing bridge has undergone structural and mechanical repairs and was upgraded to a highway load rating. Final site remediation was completed in spring/summer of 2019.
These historic investments will mitigate health and safety risks, halt the loss of nationally significant built heritage and stimulate the economy in communities across the country.
