Info-Work - Hamlet Bridge to Close Overnight for Repair
Trent-Severn Waterway National Historic Site
April 6, 2021, Peterborough, ON – Parks Canada would like to advise that the Hamlet Bridge on the Severn River will close to vehicular traffic overnight on April 13th and 14th, between the hours of 6:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m.
The Hamlet Bridge is located at Peninsula Point Road and Canning Road 49, between the Townships of Severn and Gravenhurst. Emergency services will be notified. Motorists
are asked to plan their routes accordingly.
As a part of an historic investment program along the Trent-Severn Waterway, between winter 2019 and early 2020, Parks Canada replaced both the fixed and swing portions of the Hamlet Bridge on the Severn River. The work included the replacement of the road abutments, the east pier, mechanical and electrical systems, and the bridge operator’s building. This road closure is to repair deficiencies in that work, under warranty.
