History
Constructed: 1908-1914

The Trent-Severn Waterway is a prime example of the evolution of transportation and construction technology. Canal contracts involved complex elements in addition to lock and dam construction. Dredging, retaining walls, bridge piers and cofferdams also formed part of the work and separate projects were required to install operating machinery, lock gates and residences for canal staff.
