Lock 20 - Ashburnham
Trent-Severn Waterway National Historic Site
Lock 20 is located at the northeastern corner of Little Lake in Peterborough. Located away from busy roads, this lock station makes for a quiet stop within the city limits. Boaters can walk or bike on the Trans Canada Trail, which cuts through the site. A beautiful location for overnight mooring.

History
Constructed: 1896-1900
Located on the shore of Little Lake and the Trans-Canada Trail, the lock provided access to the artificial canal cut leading to the Peterborough Lift Lock. Originally the site of private homes, the property was converted to workshops, a maintenance yard and docking area for the canal work crew. Today the original Lockmaster’s Watch House from Lock 20 is being used as a mini-museum at Lock 32.
