Announcement of the new Parks Canada Co-Champions
Dear colleagues,
I am pleased to announce a significant step forward in our commitment to fostering inclusion, and diversity at Parks Canada. Six new Co-Champions have been appointed, each dedicated to leading initiatives that are integral to our collective success. The areas of focus for our new Co-Champions are wellness, youth workforce and the managers’ community.
Wellness Co-Champions: nurturing wellbeing
David Millar, VP Real Property and Assets and Jarred Picher, Director, Natural Resource Management, are newly appointed mental health Co-Champions and will advocate for a supportive and compassionate workplace, promoting initiatives that prioritize the mental and emotional wellbeing of our entire organization.
Youth Co-Champions: inspiring tomorrow’s leaders
Dedicated to amplifying the voices of our youth, Andrew Francis, VP Finance and Marie-Hélène Brisson, Director, Visitor Experience are newly appointed Co-Champions for youth and will advocate for inclusivity and engage with emerging leaders, ensuring their perspectives shape the future of Parks Canada.
Managers’ community Co-Champions: nurturing professional growth
Focused on leadership development, Andrew Campbell, Senior VP, Operations and Kerry Buckley, Executive Director, Real Property & Asset Portfolio Management, are newly appointed Co-Champions for managers. They are dedicated to supporting the training and development of managers, fostering a sense of community, connecting peers regionally, and sharing best practices. Their mission is to empower managers at all levels within a diverse and collaborative environment.
These Co-Champions will be instrumental in driving positive change, bring diverse perspectives, experiences, and expertise to their respective roles. Let’s warmly welcome them as they contribute to making Parks Canada an even more inclusive and welcoming place for all.
