Exciting Opportunity: Positive Space Trainer Role Available!
Are you passionate about creating safe and inclusive spaces for 2SLGBTQIA+ individuals? Interested in sharing your knowledge and enthusiasm with learners who wish to become workplace Positive Space ambassadors? The Canada School of Public Service is looking for Government of Canada employees who are qualified subject matter experts and who could facilitate a virtual course that may also be taught in the classroom as visiting faculty members.
Course description
Sign into the School’s learning platform to consult the description of the courses you would be facilitating as a visiting faculty member. Topics:
Who can benefit from this opportunity:
- Public servants who are interested in driving action through collaboration and being an ally, and concretely contributing to the Government of Canada’s efforts to advance greater diversity and inclusion.
- Public servants who are interested in joining the Canada School of Public Service family of visiting faculty members, who collectively strive to better the public service by changing hearts and minds.
CSPS is seeking people who have:
- experience facilitating interactive events and learning activities that encourage curiosity, self-growth and awareness, within a safe environment,
- an understanding, through lived experience, of the implications of exclusion, systemic discrimination or racial discrimination,
- a solid understanding of how multiple identity factors, and their intersection, shape the lived experiences of marginalized individuals and groups,
- knowledge of the impact of past trauma on the stress response, and the potential role this might have on participants’ learning experiences and mental health,
- a passion for bringing about meaningful change through inclusion.
As a visiting faculty member, you remain in your substantive position as an employee of your home department or agency. This process does not affect your employee status in any way. An agreement between your department or agency and the Canada School of Public Service is required.
A selection process will be conducted, and successful candidates will be invited to participate in a training session. The training session is required for all new visiting faculty members.
If you are interested in this unique opportunity to share your knowledge, skills, and are dedicated to train others in fostering an open and respectful environment, CSPS like to hear from you.
Please send us a copy of your CV and include Positive Space in the subject of your email.
