Your Contribution Matters: Let's Act Together 2024 GCWCC
Hello everyone,
Parks Canada's 2024 charity campaign has officially been launched since September 23, and we have already seen a great show of generosity from you. We sincerely thank you for your commitment and support so far.
This is how United Way Centraide helped Rose: “After we paid for rent or other necessities, sometimes we couldn’t afford to pay our heating bill, or had no money left over for food. Eventually, my family of five became homeless and we had to split up because we couldn’t find a place that could accommodate all of us. I felt so much stress and anxiety, my hair began to fall out.” Source.
Like Rose’s story, there are thousands of other stories that show the real impact made through the collective action of public servants.
Currently, 6% of Parks Canada employees have participated for payroll deductions and one-time payments. For those who wish to contribute, the easiest option is to donate through payroll deduction.
Here’s how to get started:
- Go to the "Make a Donation" page on the GCWCC website.
- Select Parks Canada and your work location, then click "Continue to the donation page."
- Next, you can choose from your main beneficiaries, ProjectBe, or another organization.
- You must enter the total amount, which is your weekly amount multiplied by 26, then click "Add."
- For example, if you wish to donate $5 per week, enter $130.
- You can donate different amounts to different organizations.
- Click "Review and Donate" at the top right, then "Complete My Donation."
- Finally, enter your personal information, choose "Payroll Deduction," and confirm your transaction.
You can donate as little as $1 per pay, and if every Parks Canada employee donated $1 every two weeks, we could accumulate over $143,000 to support the charities we stand behind together.
- $1 per pay can provide a child in Guelph with a backpack and school supplies;$4 per pay funds one day of research conducted by a graduate student.
The deadline to donate through payroll deduction is December 5. Deductions will start in January 2025 and continue through December 2025. Thanks to payroll deductions, a tax credit will automatically be applied on your T4, making your donation even more advantageous.
We count on you to help make this campaign a great success. Every gesture counts and makes a difference. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us directly at ccmtgc-gcwcc@pc.gc.ca
Thank you again for your generosity and solidarity.
