2024-08-23 updated hybrid work model

Good day everyone,

Further to the message from the PCEO sent on May 2, 2024, regarding the update to our hybrid work model, we would like to remind you that all office-based employees eligible for a hybrid work arrangement will now be able to work remotely up to two days per week as of September 9, 2024. Executives will be able to work remotely up to one day per week as of the same date to ensure sustained leadership and effective support for teams. We will continue to rely on our management team to ensure consistent application of the hybrid work model from coast to coast to coast.

As we get closer to September 9, 2024, we remind all team members eligible for hybrid work arrangements that you must discuss your arrangement with your manager and then complete a new agreement in the myWorkArrangement application (mWA) by September 4, 2024.

Over the past several months, we’ve been preparing our office spaces to accommodate more employees. From enhanced safety protocols to updated resources on ParksNet, we’ve made significant efforts to ensure a smooth and welcoming transition as we return to a more regular in-office presence. However, as we make this shift, it’s important to remember that there will be adjustments and learning curves, and we’re committed to supporting everyone as we navigate this together.

There is ample space to accommodate all employees in our offices across the country. However, employees working out of Montreal, Winnipeg or Vancouver offices must book a workstation in advance via Outlook given there is slightly less inventory at those locations. To stay informed about the latest on hybrid work, including the mWA application, latest supporting tools and space allotment, including how to book spaces within your specific office, please visit ParksNet.

All employees are expected to show their commitment to the Parks Canada Values and Ethics Code by abiding by their hybrid work schedule. Your dedication to these values and to the organization helps us maintain a positive and productive work environment for everyone as we deliver results for Canadians.

Changes can impact everyone differently. Please remember that there is support through the Employee and Family Assistance Program available at 1-800-268-7708, or 1-800-567-5803 (TTY - for people with hearing impairments) if you are having difficulties or need to talk to someone.

We thank you for your ongoing cooperation.
