Announcement - Retirement of Lianne Wright

Dear colleagues,

I’m writing to inform you that Lianne Wright, whose most recent role within the organization was as Director, Strategic Planning, Data and Performance, has retired from the public service.

Lianne joined Parks Canada in 2007 as Chief of Staff to the PCEO, following her career as a lawyer, consultant and then as an executive at the Canadian Air Transport Security Authority. Over the years, she held many different corporate and operational roles within the organization, including acting Field Unit Superintendent, Jasper. She still refers to that experience as one amongst others she holds dearly during her time at Parks Canada.

In July 2021, Lianne temporarily stepped away from the organization after a diagnosis of metastatic melanoma and a brain tumour. After several years of treatment and some surgeries, she is now at the stage of monitoring her condition and is regaining her health. Keen to continue her wellness journey, she has decided to retire from the public service.

I would like to thank Lianne for her passion of Parks Canada's mandate, her many contributions and the leadership shown in all aspects of her work.
