2024 Public Service Awards of Excellence

Hello to all,

I am pleased to inform you that the nomination period for the Public Service Award of Excellence (PSAE) is now open. The PSAE is an opportunity to recognize outstanding federal public service employees who have demonstrated excellence, professionalism, and innovation in their work on behalf of Canadians.

Categories for Nominations

The PSAE are awarded to individuals and teams. Nominations can be proposed in the following award categories for achievements between January and December 2023:

• Excellence in Profession
• Exceptional Young Public Servant
• Exemplary Contribution under Extraordinary Circumstances
• Joan Atkinson Award for Public Sector Values in the Workplace
• Ian Shugart Award for Outstanding Career

Nomination Process

• Visit the PSAE GCpedia page and consult the Nomination Guidelines.
• Notify Parks Canada’s National Recognition team, via email, that you will be proposing a nomination. Provide the name of the employee, their title and their business unit, or provide the team’s name and number of people.
• Complete the nomination form.
• Write two letters of support, one of which must be signed by the respective Vice President.

Deadline and Process

• Completed nominations and letters of support must be submitted directly to the Parks Canada National Recognition Team no later than Monday, April 15, 2024.
• Nominations will be reviewed to ensure respect of criteria, and nominators will be contacted if required. The final nomination packages will be submitted directly to the Treasury Board Secretariat.
