October is Cyber Security Awareness Month: Get involved!

Today marks the beginning of Cyber Security Awareness Month, an annual campaign each October to highlight the importance of cyber security.  

Cyber security is a shared responsibility across the Government of Canada. Each of us plays a critical role in ensuring the confidentiality and integrity of our information and networks. 

Given the increasing sophistication and frequency of cyber attacks, now more than ever we must be cyber vigilant. This month let’s commit to enhancing our cyber security knowledge and practices.   

Here are some ways you can improve your cyber security skills:  

• Learn how to recognize and avoid phishing messages.
• Learn more about cyber security and discuss its importance with colleagues, friends, and family. The Get Cyber Safe website offers some excellent resources.  
• Attend the Canada School of Public Service Annual Cyber Security Awareness Month Event on October 3, 2024. 

Throughout October, we will share valuable tips and resources on cyber security best practices and how to maintain them throughout the year.
