Happy National Public Service Week 2024

Dear colleagues,

As we celebrate National Public Service Week, I want to take a moment to express my sincere appreciation for the dedication and hard work that each of you bring to the important work of Parks Canada every day.

National Public Service Week provides an opportunity to reflect on our mandate and on ways that we can live up to the values reflected in our renewed Parks Canada Values and Ethics Code. It is also a time to celebrate the outstanding achievements of team members and I was very proud to honour so many exceptional colleagues at last Friday’s CEO Awards of Excellence ceremony. If you missed it, you can watch the video of the event online. As I have said before, this ceremony is one of my favourite moments of the year, a moment where we shine a light on some of the finest examples passion, innovation, and excellence of colleagues from across the country.

This week, I encourage you to continue acknowledging each other’s hard work by participating in initiatives such as Kudos Cascade – where you can express your acknowledgment and appreciation for your colleagues in an online message that will be shared with the rest of the Parks Canada team on ParksNet. If you are in the National Capital Region, I also invite you to join some of the Parks Canada senior management committee members in the lobby of 30 Victoria on Wednesday, June 12 from 9:30am – 11:00am for treats and coffee as you walk along and explore the new Protecting Nature and Culture with Parks Canada Giant Floor Map.
